What is The New Record?TheNewRecord.com is the first free music discovery platform curated by independent record labels. Labels include Anti-, Kill Rock Stars, Sub Pop, Century Media, Daptone, Rhymesayers, Brushfire Records, Side One Dummy and over 30 others with more being added weekly.
The New Record offers users filtered environment to play and download new songs (often weeks in advance of release) for free.
What can I do at the New Record?
With a free one-time sign-up, users can play and download unlimited free MP3s, use a built-in widget to embed songs or playlists, create and swap customizable playlists with other users, and share new finds with friends via their blog, Facebook, Twitter, email etc. Using the ‘Follow’ feature, users have new music delivered to them directly from their favorite record labels or artists whenever new content is added, often before release date. Users can also follow each other, filtering new music through their friend’s tastes.
How much does The New Record cost?
It's free. Zero dollars. Just sign up, and the music is yours.

There is no catch. Just sign up, and download free music.
What does following do?
There's nothing keeping you from downloading anything on the site, but you'll want to follow your favorite labels and artists. Whenever they add new music to the site, you will be notified.
What is a playlist?
You can download songs from The New Record, but we understand many users will want to listen before downloading. You can listen to songs and organize them into playlists, either for yourself or to share with your friends. Share your tastes on your blog or via your favorite social network site.
My friend couldn’t download songs from my shared playlist, why not?
Downloading songs from The New Record is for registered users only. If your friend likes the music you are sharing, have them sign up for The New Record.
I live outside North America, Can I join?
At this time, The New Record is only available within the North America.
How do I become a Top User?
Become a top user by simply using The New Record. Listen to songs, download them, and share songs with your friends by embedding songs/playlists on your blog or home page.

Playlists are a great way to listen to (and organize) your new music. You can create, swap with other users or embed playlists on your blog or web site.
